Range: The S and partly C Balkan Peninsula, Asia Minor E to Iran and Caucasus.
Distribution in Bulgaria: Struma valley S of and including Kresna gorge, at altitudes below 700 m.
Habitat: Hot dry rocky slopes.
Bionomics: One generation from April till June. Larval host-plants: unknown.
Conservation status: Needs further studies. In Bulgaria this is a rare species with very limited range which in addition is partly threatened by development (e.g. in Kresna gorge). IUCN category: Data Deficient, possibly Vulnerable. Its inclusion into the Red Data Book of Bulgaria is herewith recommended.
