Issoria lathonia (Linnaeus, 1758)
Range: Temperate Palearctic.
Distribution in Bulgaria: The whole country from sea level to over 2900 m.
Habitat: All kinds of open places.
Bionomics: Three generations from March till October. Larval host plant: Viola (Tolman & Lewington 1997).
Conservation status: One of the most common butterflies in Bulgaria. IUCN category: Lower risk, least concern.
