Limenitis camilla (Linnaeus, 1764)
Range: Temperate Eurasia.
Distribution in Bulgaria: In hilly lowlands and mountains up to ca. 1400 m a.s.l.
Habitat: Sunny places in wooded river valleys, forest roads and clearings etc.
Bionomics: One generation in June and July. Larval host plant: Lonicera (Caprifoliaceae) (Tolman & Lewington 1997).
Conservation status: In Bulgaria this is a local and comparatively rare species at the southernmost limit of its European distribution. Needs further studies. IUCN category: Data Deficient, possibly Lower risk, near threatened.
