Distribution in Bulgaria: Everywhere, reaching over 2400 m a.s.l.. Migrant, not a permanent resident of the country.
Habitat: Not associated with any particular habitat type, can be met with virtually everywhere.
Bionomics: One generation from June to October, which hibernates and reappears next spring. Larval host-plants: Urtica and Parietaria (Urticaceae) (Tolman & Lewington 1997).
Conservation status: One of the most widespread and common butterflies in Bulgaria. IUCN category: Lower risk, least concern.
