Range: C and E Balkan Peninsula, W Turkey.
Distribution in Bulgaria: Local in lowlands and mountain foothills up to ca. 1000 m.
Habitat: Dry, warm bushy and/or rocky places.
Bionomics: One generation from May till July. Larval host-plant: Aristolochia (Aristolochiaceae).
Conservation status: Not directly threatened but of conservation interest in view of its limited total range, a significant part of which lies in Bulgarian territory. IUCN category: Lower risk, near threatened.
